Multigenerational Youth and Senior Coordinator

Tasks and Responsibilities:
The Coordinator supports youth and senior programs across the Southern Gulf Islands, strengthening community well-being and expanding multigenerational engagement. The role includes program coordination, digital/dataset tasks, environmental project support, and community involvement. The position offers hybrid work with flexible hours and exposure to foundational AI concepts.
Key Responsibilities:
Youth Coordination:
- Support youth programs as a Youth Engagement Team Leader.
- Coordinate activities, volunteers, and youth-focused initiatives.
- Assist with social media, website updates, and digital communications.
- Conduct data collection and analysis to support youth engagement strategies.
- Assist with grant writing and documentation.
- Collaborate with community groups to strengthen youth services.
Senior Coordination:
- Support the Seniors Advisory Committee in program development.
- Assist with seniors’ activities and intergenerational initiatives.
- Coordinate the senior transportation ride-share program.
- Support Elder Care Day logistics.
- Facilitate workshops and community-based senior programming.
General Duties:
- Align youth and senior programs to enhance multigenerational involvement.
- Participate in food security and well-being initiatives.
- Perform digital tasks, data entry, data preparation, and simple automation.
- Gain exposure to foundational AI concepts through organizing, and information gathering.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the Southern Gulf Islands.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Willingness to learn digital and AI-related tasks.
- Creativity and initiative.
This position is partially funded by Canada Summer Jobs 2026. Eligible participants must be:
- between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
- Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or persons to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
International students are not eligible.
Rate of pay is $20 per hour for 9 weeks and 30 hours a week.
