• Southern Gulf Islands Community Resource Centre

Committed to enhancing community capacity and fostering both social and economic opportunities.

With great respect, the Southern Gulf Islands Community Resource Centre acknowledges that our work takes place on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded homelands of the Coast Salish Peoples. We are situated on the unceded territories of the W̱SÁNEĆ comprising Tsawout, Tseycum, Tsartlip and Pauquachin as well as the Hul’qumi’num comprising Penelakut, Lamalcha, Lyackson, Coast Salish People of Galiano and other Indigenous people who have lived here since time immemorial. The Community Resource Centre strives to forge respectful and reciprocal working relationships with these indigenous people for the benefit of all who reside on these lands.

What is the CRC?

The Southern Gulf Islands Community Resource Centre (SGICRC) is a not-for-profit, multi-service Island community organization.  It offers a broad range of educational, social, cultural, Edu-tourism and capacity-building programs to local area residents across the four Southern Gulf Islands of Pender, Saturna, Mayne and Galiano.

To maximize service to our Southern Gulf Island communities better, The Southern Gulf Islands Community Resource Centre Society has created an additional legal entity: the Southern Gulf Islands Neighbourhood House Society and transferred some programs over. The projects and programs have remained the same, with the same staff employed to deliver those programs, the same volunteers, the same objectives, and the same outcomes.  These include Seniors Programs https://sginh.ca/programs/seniors-programs/  ; Youth Programs https://sginh.ca/programs/youth-programs/  ; and the Community Justice Program https://sginh.ca/programs/cjp/
