The Sustainable Funding Initiative’s Purpose

The Sustainable Funding Initiative (SFI) purpose is to support the Southern Gulf Islands’ non-profit and volunteer communities. By sharing resources, offering training, and providing hands-on help, the SFI helps individuals and organizations grow their capacity and become more effective in their work. It’s all about giving local groups the tools and knowledge they need to make a bigger impact.

Whether it’s through workshops, personalized support, or connecting people with valuable resources, the SFI makes it easier for non-profits to navigate the challenges of funding and planning. The initiative is focused on helping local organizations strengthen their efforts and continue making a positive difference in their communities.

SFI Grant Rebate Program

Are you a Galiano, Mayne, Pender or Saturna non-profit seeking additional funds to hire your organization’s Grant Writer this season?

The Southern Gulf Island Community Resource Centre can help. Successful applicants will be provided with a $250 rebate that will help subsidize your organization’s grant writer’s fees.

Registration for our next intake opens September 1st, 2026 – September 22nd, 2026.

Here is how it works:

Step 1

Apply for pre-approval to secure your rebate. The application will be available at linktr.ee/sgisfi starting September 1st.

Step 2

Once pre-approved, hire a grant writer to assist with your grant application.

Step 3

Your grant writer will write and submit your grant application.

Step 4

Send us proof of your grant submission and a copy of your grant writer’s invoice by October 31st, 2026.

This program is made possible thanks to the generous financial support from the SGI Community Economic Sustainability Commission (CESC), the Capital Regional District, and a New Horizons Grant. Together, these partnerships showcase our commitment to strengthening our community through collaborative funding efforts.
