Housing NOW Saltspring

A Community-First Approach to Housing on Salt Spring Island

Originally designed for the Southern Gulf Islands — Galiano, Mayne, Pender, and Saturna — the Registry has grown thanks to the foundational support of the SGI Economic Sustainability Commission and SGI Capital Regional District.

In 2024, we proudly expanded to Salt Spring Island with support from the Southern Gulf Islands Tourism Partnership and the Salt Spring Island Local Community Commission. This collaborative momentum enables us to better serve Salt Spring’s unique rental landscape — from seasonal housing for workers to long-term home sharing opportunities.

Data Collection: It is important to note that regarding surveys, questionnaires, and data collection there is no established threshold for defining a high response rate. What we do know is the higher the response rate the more accurate and valid the prospective observations are. As we collect more data and more residents complete surveys, and questionnaires, and provide more qualitative responses these patterns may change.
