What is the ṮEṮÁĆES Restoration Initiative?
The primary goal of this project is to address the need for the W̱SÁNEĆ nations to re-establish connection with their traditional homelands; with their ÁLEṈENEȻ. The aim is to work in a good way to promote cross-cultural understanding, cultural sharing and community awareness. Specifically, SENĆOŦEN language signage and educational installations documenting W̱SÁNEĆ history will be placed at key S,DÁ,YES (Pender Island) locations and will be celebrated in unveiling ceremonies which will involve participation of W̱SÁNEĆ children, youth, and Elders.

The first of these instillations was unveiled August 8th, 2024 at the ancient W̱SÁNEĆ villiage site of QENEN,IW̱, located at the site that Poets Cove Resort now occupies,
