Program Coordinator – Better at Home Program

JOB SUMMARY
The Better at Home Program Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and executing
program deliverables, managing client services, providing and maintaining contractor services,
developing and maintaining an inventory of services, fostering relationships, leading initiatives, and
planning.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Seniors and elders are an important and growing part of our communities, and their active involvement
enriches everyone’s lives. United Way’s Better at Home program helps BC’s older adults from priority
populations including those with low to modest income, social isolation, low to moderate frailty, or
members of underserved groups including immigrant and ethnocultural minority seniors, Indigenous
elders, caregivers, 2SLGBTQIA+ seniors, and persons living with a disability continue living
independently in their own homes near friends, family and neighbours by providing simple, nonmedical
home support services. Including tasks such as grocery shopping, light housekeeping and
friendly visits which keep participants socially engaged and connected. The result is an overall increase
in quality of life

WAGES: Pay Scale $28.00 to $32.00 per hour
HOURS: PART-TIME, 22.5 HOURS PER WEEK
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in program coordination, case management, or community services.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
• Knowledge of aging-related services and community support programs.
• Ability to work as a team and collaborate with internal and external parties.
• Ability to use relevant software for data entry and reporting (e.g., iUnite database or similar
systems, Microsoft Office for Business, One Drive, Microsoft Teams for file management).
