iPhone & iPad Tips & Tricks

Wednesday December 1 2021 1pm – 3pm 

Your gadget works for you… most of the time. But you sense there’s more you could be doing with it, and it feels like navigating a maze. The Apple people can be helpful for solving bigger problems— but little things fall into the cracks of frustration, so you mostly stick to what you know. In this workshop, we dive bravely into that exploratory realm.

File Management

Wednesday December 8 2021 1pm – 3pm 

Learn to easily keep track of all your computer files. We will be:

  • Finding the right amount of folders
  • Naming them so you can easily find them
  • Figuring out what can be archived
  • Discussing 4 uses for external hard drives
  • Saving important emails
  • And…talking about password protectors!

Recognizing & Avoiding Online Scams

Creating Photo Presentations

The purpose of this class is to teach how to present photos professionally in hard copy (not on a computer or cell-phone screen). The class is for anyone who feels their photos are good enough to show in their homes or present to their friends and family. 

Working with Scrivener Writing Software

Wednesday October 13 2021 1pm – 3pm 

Scrivener is a terrific software program for organizing your writing life. Like all software, it contains tools applicable to varying levels of expertise—not all of them useful. Scrivener is equally useful for long-form writing, short stories and other types of writing.

How to use your Apple Computer (Mac)

Wednesday October 20 2021 1pm – 3pm 

For those who feel they’re perpetually up against a learning curve with their mac. We’ll look at common issues and go over the corresponding how-to’s, including:

  • Copy+Paste
  • find, move or rename files
  • minimize or expand windows
  • finding things when you think they’ve disappeared!

Intro to Pintrest

Wednesday October 27 2021 1pm – 3pm 

Pinterest is a website and app which you can scroll through or search within for things like recipes, DIY ideas, style, gardening, and travel inspiration— whatever you fancy. There’s over 400 million monthly users, and the main function of the app is “Pinning” different posts to your “boards”— essentially categorizing and saving appealing images, soulful quotes, or tasty recipes to refer to later.

Photo Editing Basics for iPhone & iPad

Wednesday September 15 2021 1pm – 3pm 

In this course we’ll explore some basic photo features in the Apple photo app as well as a few easy-to-use photo editing apps. Think brightening a photo, adjusting the contrast, learning how to use and adjust filters.

Wednesday September 29 2021 1pm – 3pm 

In this workshop we will be taking instagram a step further— diving more into the “stories” feature, creating videos, and exploring reels.
